Mental health matters in Southampton. Every year one in four of us experience a mental health problem, so we are committed to ensuring we have the right services in place to support people in the city. If you live in Southampton, mental health services are provided by a variety of organisations, including the NHS, local charities and the Council.
- If you or someone you care for is under 18 and experiencing emotional, behavioural and or mental health difficulties, you can be referred to Southampton’s Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS). This is a comprehensive mental health service for children and young people (0-18 years) promoting good mental health and psychological well-being. You can be referred to this service by your GP, your school, health visitor or social worker.
- Support for children and young people up to the age of 25 is also available from No Limits. No Limits provide a wide range of services including information, advice, counselling and support. This help can be accessed by contacting the service directly, as well as via referrals from families, friends and professionals.
